I’ve always found this part hard. How do you describe yourself by what you do when you do so many things.. I guess I can start by saying I’m a true Gemini and have my hands in everything.
What I do for a paycheck – I’m a Producer for an Advertising company where I produce photo shoots, CGI projects and illustrations. It’s hectic and crazy but can also be great fun and very rewarding.
What I do for fun – I’m a writer and I’ve been writing ever since I was a young girl. I love telling stories whether it’s a poem or short story or an article about a restaurant I like. My poetry has appeared in Clockwise Cat, Broad, Belleville Park Pages, SNR Review, Main Street Rag and PDXX Collection. My stories have appeared in The Sun for Readers Write and my travel stories can be found in Smarter Travel. Magazines I have written for is Dazed & Confuzed, Platinum, Nylon and City. I’ve published poetry in a book Winged Victory: Transcending Breast Cancer. I’ve also written two short plays which I cast, produced and directed myself through Short Play Lab and Playwright at the Grand. I’ve lived a very fulfilling life, traveling to 5 out of the 7 continents in the world, being a published writer, living in two other counties (Argentina and Italy), learning to tango dance, play tennis, and so much more. But the one thing I knew I really wanted to be was a mother. It was a long journey and a long struggle to get here but I never gave up on my dream, and in 2016 I gave birth to my beautiful son, Luke Virgil.
I was hesitant about creating “another mom blog” but felt it was important to continue to tell stories, share advice, lessons and provide some information or support for all moms out there but especially single moms living in the ever exciting and always evolving New York City. And I hope this blog will also help me to stay inspired and be the best mom I can be.
